Biking for Food Sovereignty
We are biking 10,000 km from Sweden to India for a better food system.
Hi! We are Max and Wavy.

At University, we have felt limited by the narrative about how real change isn’t possible, and we all must settle in to jobs complacent in an economic system that is causing climate change, war, and unimaginable human suffering.
So we decided to go biking.
We are hoping to learn about how to live a life with integrity and resistance through the people we meet, the world we see, and the simple and unmaterialistic life we live on the road. We also hope doing something a little crazy will help us build a platform to talk about an issue close to our hearts and central to all of our collective liberation: Food Sovereignty.

What the heck is food sovereignty anyways?
Basically, we think everyone should have access to good food. Which is a much more revolutionary idea than you might think.
9 million people per year die of malnutrition or illness related to not have enough food. This is not because there is not enough food to feed everyone culturally appropriate and sustainable food. It is because we have an economic system that prioritizes having ever growing quantity of profit, over the health of people and the planet.

Food food sovereignty is about creating a food system in which producers, distributers, and consumers at the heart of food systems and policies rather than the demands of markets and corporation. For us, food sovereignty provides a road and a framework to attack oppressive systems of growthism and imperialism in an area we know and care about deeply.
